Photoshop -Digital photo-editing and still art creation
Grades: 5-12
Year (levels: beginning; advanced)
What is Photoshop CS4? Adobe® Photoshop® CS4
Ideal for digital artist, photographers, graphic designers, and web designers.
The curriculum for this course is 3 levels in length, at the end of which students
will have a professional portfolio of their work and can apply to the curriculum creator
for additional certification beyond that given by J-Curve.

Photography
Grades: 5-12
Year (levels: beginning; advanced)
Students will use digital cameras to capture images like a pro. Students will learn
about photography basics including: camera equipment – cameras, lighting for different subjects
and events, using flash and natural lighting techniques. Some topics include but are not limited to:
Displaying photos, publishing to the web, creating a portfolio, photo journalism, and basic computer photo editing.
Students in the video production and digital art paths are encouraged to take this course.

Video Production
Grades: 5-12
Year (levels: beginning; advanced)
This is a hands-on, small group instruction setting where students will learn the steps involved in: Pre – Post Production.
All aspects of production will be covered including lighting, story boards/script writing, filming and editing basics.
Students will use a 3 chip camera to create their short films, music videos and entertainment shows. Students will also learn
how to critique films from a, film maker’s perspective. As students hone their skills, and pass required elements they will
have the opportunity to become part of the production team.

Final Cut Pro -Digital video editing
Grades: 6-12
Year (levels: beginning; advanced)
Students in the video production path will learn the fundamentals of non linear video editing. Students will learn to edit
a one camera commercial, multi camera interviews, learn to splice segments to the beat of music for a music video and simple titles.
Advanced editing students will learn advanced special effects techniques for editing as well as editing their own projects.

After Effects -Special Effects / Animation for web and video
Grades: 8-12
Year (levels: beginning; intermediate; advanced)
Composite images to create special effects to incorporate into animated web sites or film/videos. A time line based program, using layers.
With this program only your imagination can limit you! “Specialized digital art”
Prerequisite: Photoshop 1 or other Digital Art based program.
Into Audio 1a
Includes soundtrack, premiere pro, pro tools (recommended duration take for one year) Learn solid foundation needed for audio editing and sound mixing.
Script writing -Final Draft
Grades: 5-12
Year (levels: beginning; intermediate; advanced)
Final Draft is a word processor specifically designed for writing movie scripts, television episodes and stage plays. Students in the video production
channel/path will be introduced to script writing and learn to use final draft to complete scripts for their productions. As students advance their scripts
can become longer and more complicated.

Computer Graphic Design -Illustrator and InDesign; Adobe® CS3
Grades: 6-12
Year (levels: beginning; advanced)
Create sophisticated artwork for virtually any medium. Industry-standard drawing tools, flexible color controls, and professional type controls help you
capture your ideas and experiment freely. Students in the digital art and graphic design channel/path will learn to use both of these programs in
conjunction with adobe photo shop. They will also learn to evaluate and critique professional marketing brochures, business cards, branding/ logos and trends.

Adobe® Flash®
Flash is a timeline based animation program suited to working well with illustrator. Create rich, interactive content for digital, web,
and mobile platforms. Create interactive websites, rich media advertisements, instructional media, engaging presentations, games, and more. Flash is a program
students in the computer science/ web design channel/path will definitely want to master. Students will be in demand for their flash knowledge in the web design field.

Adobe® Dream Weaver CS4 Professional
Dreamweaver is an html Wysiwyg editor suited to working well with Photoshop.
Create rich, interactive content for digital, web, and mobile platforms. Create interactive websites, rich media advertisements, instructional media, engaging presentations, games, and more. Students will learn more than word and basic power point; access (Microsoft Office only) and excel. Students will learn how their skills can be put into action to enhance projects for school and beyond.

Animation -CINEMA 4D R10.5 - Core
Grades: 6-12
Year (levels: beginning; advanced)
Production-level 3D animation used in high-end production studios and broadcast companies. You can see CINEMA 4D R10.5 - Core in action on Fox Television,
Fox Sports Net, Disney, NBC, CBS, WB, Travel Channel, HBO, and in films like Gladiator and Star Wars: Episode II. With CINEMA 4D R10.5 - Core, you get all
the great functions you need to create awesome images and animations. It's a great start to the world of 3D. Students will take their classic cartoon art
to a whole new dimension with this program. Students in the Digital art and or video production courses will want to take this course. If you are into
drawing and want to see your work come alive this is the class for you.

Architectural Design -ArchiCAD
Grades: 6-12
Year (levels: beginning; intermediate; advanced)
Do you want to design buildings, sets or cities of the future on the computer and see it in 3D? ArchiCAD allows you to raise walls, lay floors, add doors
and windows, build stairs and construct roofs and prints out actual blue prints for your design! Students will learn how to complete plans, sections and
elevations, architectural and construction details, renderings, animations and virtual reality scenes. Students will build models and print out actual size
blue prints of their designs. Students will also create virtual tours of their designs with an animated movie.
